Latest Update on COVID-19

LAST UPDATED: MARCH 19, 2020

Northlake Family,

It has been a busy week around here as we are adjust to our ever changing world, and I want to share with our church family how Northlake is responding to this unprecedented time.  I encourage you to read this email throughly so you do not miss any vital information.

First, let me paint for your the big picture of what we desire to accomplish over these next 6-8 weeks until Travis County lifts their gathering mandates:

Mission: It is critical for all of us at Northlake to remember that although we are living in a chaotic world right now, our mission and purpose have not changed.  We exist to LOVE JESUS and BRING HOPE.  I am eager to see the opportunities that God is going to give our church family through these circumstances.  My prayer is that our love for HIM will grow and that we will continue to bring gospel hope to every man, woman and child.  Do not let this season go by without jumping on mission. If there is ever a time for you to jump in and serve our church family and community, this is it.
Ministry: Our elders and staff are committed to continue to shepherd and minister to our church family during this season. We are committed to your good… from every child to every adult. We are here to shepherd our church through this time.
Community: Though we cannot gather, we want to see our church family continue to grow in relationships with one another. We are thinking through how we can all be scattered but still unified and connected.
Financial Stability:  Church, you are a generous church! Because of your generosity over the last 7 months, we are in a good financial position as a church family, and we are also in a position to empty ourselves a bit for the needs of others.  We are asking that our church continue to be generous to the measure that God has given you and to continue in your faithfulness.  My prayer is that we can minimize the financial impact of not meeting each week.  My prayer is that we will continue to show ourselves generous so we can continue meeting the needs of our community and our ministry partners.
I know God will not only see us through this season, but we will advance the kingdom in our community.

In conclusion, I want to let you know our go forward plan 1.0.  We will be making adjustments to the plan as more details come together; however, for now this is how we are moving forward:

Sunday Morning Worship:

As of right now, all Sunday worship will be streamed live online via Facebook live, YouTube live, our website and our Northlake Church App.  Before Sunday you will receive an email with the links to all the different platforms where you can view the worship service.

We will begin streaming at 10:00am on Sunday mornings.  You have the option to watch live or you can go back and view the service later in the day. I encourage you as families and neighbors to continue participating in Sunday worship.  Gather in your living rooms or kitchens and set a time aside each week to worship. Parents, use this time to really pour into the lives of your kids.  Our weekend worship services will be roughly 40-45 minutes in length.  I will try not to preach forever!

Northlake Cares:
Northlake is mobilizing people to serve those in our church family and in our community.  We are not sure what needs people may have as the impact of COVID-19 continues, but we want to be ready to serve.   On the front page of our website you will find a link to an online Northlake Cares assistance program (Click Here).  Northlake Cares will focus its priority on those at risk and sheltered individuals; however, the Northlake Cares team will assess each assistance request as it comes in.

This is a great way for you to jump on mission.  If you would like to be on this team of volunteers, just email Sheena Fleener by clicking HERE.  Come on church, let’s empty ourselves for others.

Mid-Week Activities:
All mid-week activities on campus have been suspended until further notice; however, we will move many of our mid-week activities online through conferencing platforms. Community Group leaders will communicate with their Community Groups how they intend to gather during this time.  Pastor Zach will be communicating with parents and students how our students will continue to be ministered to through online platforms.

Tithes and Offerings:
Church, as I stated earlier, our board of elders has taken steps to ensure we can meet the needs of our community, to the degree that we are able.  One of our core values at Northlake is generosity.  As a church we are going to walk in faith and be generous to the needs of our community and ministry partners.  My prayer is that each of us will continue to be faithful in our giving of tithes and offerings.  As we as individuals grow in generosity, the church rises up in generosity. I am reminded of Paul’s words regarding the church of Macedonia who experienced their own set of trials, but gave generously:

“We want you to know, brothers, about the grace of God that has been given among the churches of Macedonia, for in a severe test of affliction, their abundance of joy and their extreme poverty have overflowed in a wealth of generosity on their part…  and this, not as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and then by the will of God to us.” II Corinthians 8:1-2; 5

“Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.” II Corinthians 9:7-8

Although we are not gathering on Sunday, you can still participate in worshipping God through the giving of tithes and offerings. There are three ways to give:

Online:  You can easily give on our website by clicking HERE.  You can make one-time gifts or set it up for automatic giving.
Mail:  You can send your offering to our physical address at: 3610 Lohmans Ford Road, Lago Vista, 78645.
In Person:  You can also drop your offering off at our office at our physical location.

Church, you need to know that even though we are closed down on Sundays, our pastors and staff team are fully operational and here to serve you.  Please hear me, if there is anything we can do to help you or your family, please let us know.   We are praying earnestly for our church family and our community.  I am eager to see what God accomplishes in and through our church family throughout this season.

Church, I love you greatly.  I am here for you and your family. Do not hesitate to call upon us.

Don’t be a stranger.
